My name is Valerie Silbermann, I'm 48 years old.
By reading my « career » page, you will discover the path that led me to my current situation of free artist in stained glass.
After much research, trial and more or less successful testing, I finally discovered with my current creations a feeling of fullness. Indeed, my bright triptyches combine the glass with its transparencies, its shimmering, the magnificence of its texture and other elements that have always attracted me. There is thus calligraphy and ink, natural materials including paper, pigments, whatever recalls the earth, nature (moss, leaves, bark ...).
Each creation I make tells a story and allows me to express my state of being, my visions of the surrounding world, my dreams. The viewer can walk on it at leisure, on roads that will maybe subjectively lead towards new horizons.
The further I go into the world of stained glass, the more my horizon widens. He leads me on previously undreamed of paths. I discover other materials such as roasting, rusty wire, cotton thread. All this makes me want to explore other domains such as hook and watercolor.
All these discoveries associated with stained glass technique lead me gently to work, not flat but with volume and lightness, and to reconsider stained glass making.
With this delicious blend of technical, material, stained glass becomes a decorative object in itself. What's more exciting than contrast between lead and lace hook, between the glass and the softness of the paper? I especially embezzled old objects or materials and reappropriated them for myself. So they serve me to reinforce and to hold my work.
